During a scientific conference, actions taken and carried out during the project “Witness to the History of Nation. Cardinal Adam Stefan Sapieha (1867-1951) in archival documents”. A 5-volume publication will be presented – a collection of source materials related to the pastoral, organizational and ecclesiastical, political, charitable and social activity of Cardinal A. S. Sapieha.
The conference will be a forum for the exchange of experiences, during which the participants will debate the possibility of using the collected archival materials in further research on the outstanding figure that was the Constant Prince. It will also provide an opportunity for researchers, publicists and the general public to get to know the results of the project directly in the year of the 70th anniversary of Cardinal Sapieha’s death (2021) and before his 155th birthday (2022). By doing so, the organizers wish to inspire a worthy commemoration of these anniversaries and the dissemination of reliable, source-based information on Cardinal A. S. Sapieha.
