Assistant professor to the Chair of Archival Studies and Auxiliary Sciences of History, at the Faculty of History and Cultural Heritage, of the John Paul II Pontifical University in Krakow. Father Umiński is also director of the Library of the Congregation of Missionary Priests, editor-in-chief of the magazine “Our Past”, curator of the Historical and Missionary Museum of the Congregation of Missionary Priests, treasurer to the Board of the Federation of Church Libraries, FIDES. His academic and research interests include: archival studies, library studies, museology, history of religious orders and associations and history of the Second Polish Republic. He has written, among other publications, in the following journals, “Archives, Libraries and Church Museums”, “Bibliotheca Nostra” and “Fides. Bulletin of Church Libraries”. He also wrote the Polish Province of the Congregation of Missionary Priests in 1918-1939, Kraków 2009 and Selection of Sources for the History of the Society of St. Vincent de Paul in Polish lands, Kraków 2014.
